holy frick, I absolutely LOVE the graphics and overall aesthetic you were going for, and the arrow key auto-aim makes shooting feels incredibly satisfying and helps emphasise dodging the bullets.

The funny part is, my Devil Daggers brain kicked in for some reason and I instinctively stopped shooting to collect all the gems, and didn't realize that was an actual mechanic until like 10 minutes of playing. I don't know if you got the idea from that game, but it's such an underrated mechanic regardless.

The bullet patterns do get unreasonably difficult in the later rounds, but other than that, it's such a wonderful jam game and I can't wait to see what the Definitive Version™️ will offer!

thanks so much! you know, i had forgotten devil daggers had that mechanic. i definitely took that idea from something. it’s weird, a bunch of years ago, i made a game in gamemaker 8 with the same thing, rainbow gems and all. i wanna say in geometry wars galaxies you would suck in “geoms” if you weren’t firing, but i’m not sure. if not that, it’s from some arcade shmup i had seen or played but didn’t understand too deeply

glad you’re anticipating the definitive version! honestly, the scope is already spiraling out of control, so it will probably be mostly a balance patch and more custom game features. because then i’m gonna start working on a proper follow-up. glad you like it!
